[Radioactive (Cover)]

Sorry it took so long to get a review in. My computer crapped out on me again and I had to get it repaired.

Very, very nice cover. Comes across a lot smoother than the gruff, heavy tone I get from the original. I can tell you took some liberties with the autotuned voice in the background, and it helps make this cover your own. Definitely worth listening to. Keep it up, your music just seems to get better each upload.

I need to get online more often. Half the time I see one of your pieces have been uploaded, it's anywhere from a week to month later.

Anyway, I've been listening to your stuff long enough now that I can definitely tell you have a certain style and choice of instruments when it comes to your synth/traditional pieces. They work very well together, and as I've stated in the past, your work with traditional instruments is always soothing and very well played.

Maybe it's just my history with the series, but your original songs really remind me of Mario Kart, this one Rainbow Road in particular. Maybe that's just me, I don't know.

Lol well I would say VG Music has always influenced me, especially a classic like Mario Kart, so I'd say it's not farfetched to think that I've got some similar sounds :D

I definitely do have a certain style. I like to call is Melodic Chaos XD And thank you again for continuing to listen to my stuff. I'm always excited to see a review from you.

[LoZ Fairy Loop]

Nice collab, but to be totally honest I can't pick out a few of these songs individually. Oh well, it sounds great. Nothing sounds out of place, no one song is overpowering another, just a good loop.

Bonus points for Mabe Village. I love that theme.

Yeah I had to transpose a couple of the songs to get them to fit the Fairy chord progressions. But if you listen closely enough they are there. except for Mabe Village/Animal village being switched, they're in order. :)

... There's a WTF category?

Seems like a powerful story went into this song, but I think out of respect for any kind of personal connection you have to this, I'll stave off guessing what that was.

This may be the best thing you've put up on Newgrounds so far. I'm not saying that out of that weird fanboyish praise you saw when you made Ballad of the Windfish (which I'm STILL pretty embarrassed about), but because this song feels like you put much effort into it, time-wise as well as emotionally. The melody is flowing and smooth, the lyrics are well-written and emotionally packed, the instrument choice is good, the lyrics don't overpower the instrumentation and vice versa, the whole flow of the music just seems perfect. As music, and nothing else, this is what I'd call your best piece so far, at least to my own preferences to what I like in music: a smooth beat, no overpowered or blaring hits or beats, well-synced lyrics, and good subject matter.

All in all, you done did good. Now screw up at least once so I can stop seeming like a fanboy.

[Lovestruck]

Got a new job working overnight at Home Depot and it's sucking the life out of me during the day. I haven't been on Newgrounds in a few weeks, so I didn't see these when you posted them.

This piece sort of has a techno ballad feel to it. While upbeat and "cheery", as you said, it feels slower than your last few originals and has a very simple beat, and I love that. Torkelson said it reminds him of Owl City, and it really is in their style it appears. Keep it up.

[Yoshi's Story]

WOO! Yoshi!

I have a bit of a soft spot for the little green guy. It's like the one piece of my childhood I refuse to let die. As childish and infantile the games seem to me as I get older, deep down I always have that spark of cheery whimsy that lets me see these games as the simple, happy fun they always were and always will be.

Your particular take on the theme song captures some of that spirit. It's a bit heavier than a Yoshi song should be, but it still retains that upbeat tempo and pacing that makes a Yoshi tune what it is. A particularly love the drum beats that kick in at 00:17. They really accentuate the instruments you use and keep the song going. Nice work.

Sometimes after playing Borderlands I have to play Yoshi just to cleanse my bloody pallet ;)

I was really trying to make this heavier, yet still whimsical. I realize it's probably not your thing--we've had many review discussions about this before ;)-- but I still appreciate that you listen through and give it a chance--and the 4.5 stars. ^_^

[Seafall]

I love the beginning of this. As I've said before, I'm a much bigger fan of the orchestral/instrumental music than I am of synthetic music, but you have always managed to make it work in tandem on some level.

I really do have to say, though, where did the pseudo-dubstep come from? It's not bad, but it really did catch me by surprise and change the flow of the piece. The electronic music flowed in nicely, however.

Hopefully you keep working on this style and can streamline this a bit more with practice. I'd like to hear more of this in the future. Nice work, as always.

Yeah, I was just kind of experimenting with style clash. I'm glad you thought it worked out ok, even though these songs aren't exactly your favorite flav.

Another nice mix. Strangely, your style really reminds me of the Dream World in Pokemon Black and White here... interesting.

Now this is an example of good techno. It's not over the top, has a flowing tone throughout, and the piano is well implemented with the rest of the melody, not some strange counter-melody thrown in to change the pace.
