This one is pretty catchy, as well. It's as I said in a past comment, this kind of techno/electro music is not my cup of tea. I like it when it works, and I like it here, but high pitched sounds kind of annoy me (not the music's fault, I just really hate high-pitched noises). Keep up the good work, it's a shame that game had to go under.

I'm sorry it's not your style, but I appreciate the stars regardless! :)

As I said, It simply blows my mind you did this in one night. I mean it shows slightly, the a cappella sections have SLIGHTLY worse sound content than normal, but literally does mean nothing to me.

This has to be the best rendition of the ballad I've heard yet. I've yet to here one as dreamy as this came out to be. Starting with a soft piano rendition of the counter melody with the flute playing away into the a cappella heart of the music with the piano keeping the music together was a great decision, leaving the listener in a state of awe. I've been listening to it playing continuously sincestarting this comment and I keep thinking of this playing after Link's ship was destroyed in the storm and this was the sound drawing him to Koholint Island, with it ending with Marin looking over him. For a song you made in a single night, you have shown yourself to be amazing with the melodies, they blend perfectly and bring a sensation of dreaming, a fitting state for the song of awakening.

When you say inspiration just strikes you, that must be some inspiration. This music is beautiful and you have no idea how grateful I am you actually wrote this. It completely blows away all the expectations I had, and I'm not just saying that out of fandom. You really are a very talented musician and I hope you can do something with that talent. It would be a complete shame if that went to waste. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

VGSongbird responds:

Thank you. I really do hope someday to be able to do something more with my voice, but right now, I'm am absolutely content that you enjoyed this. I made this because you requested it, and I'm happy it did justice in your mind.

Warning you now.

A friend of mine is using this for a horror movie he's making based on the Tails Doll (of all things). He thought it sounded cool, and it is pretty damn scary. Thought I'd let you know.

Um... wow, that was extensively varied for such a simple song. My mix is nowhere near this good. I liked hearing a version of this song where you were able to vary the notes yet still keep the same basic tune. The drum hits add a nice flair to this song. It invokes the same feeling I get when listening to some of the more "floaty" Coldplay songs, like Clocks or Paradise, a feeling of sensing a larger world. I especially enjoyed the piano near the end. The techno / electro style of this kind of music always leaves a great impression on me, and this is again no exception.

I only give this a 4.5 as, while it is a tremendously well done remix, I can't help but feel it should have ended in an orchestral sense, like the piano should have played off into the distance as strings continue the countermelody as it fades out. That's just my feeling, but other than that, a great mix yet again. Hope you can continue to write music, it's definitely some of the best here.

VGSongbird responds:

I just finished listening to yours, and I happen to like your very much ^_^

I'm working to keep my mixes looping for the most part, otherwise I might've left it orchestral at the end. But it's definitely something to keep in mind for next time :D

Thanks for all your input. I appreciate it!

A dubstep of the most peaceful tune from the Mario series as a whole... A direction I never would have personally taken due to dubstep a little beyond my talents. This is really good. I love the beat mix for the first 40 seconds.

Dang...

Looking through the Audio Portal in the Video Games section, a lot of your mixes have become VERY popular lately. I counted at least 10 from you on the front page. All I have to say is Congrats... I'm lucky if I ever get more than 1.

Well, to the song. I can tell you tried to take a different approach with this tune, adapting a rather intriguing fusion of techno/electro with orchestral. The original tune was haunting and rather chilling to listen to, but you somehow managed a bit of a comforting tone on the piece. I have to say, I never believed such a transition was possible outside of changing the key to a major. In this piece, the clincher is by far the tone. The piano in the beginning was a lovely choice for melody. I love where you took this piece and hope to hear more like this in the future.

Good luck with your future plans, and I hope you don't become overwhelmed with your sudden increase in popularity.

VGSongbird responds:

Lol a LITTLE overwhelmed, but that's a good thing.
I hope you continue to get noticed. Your work is fantastic :D

I like it...

Star Fox is the one Nintendo series I can say beats out Mario on my list of favorite video game series. You did a fantastic job remixing this one, just the same as always. This mix is a bit more simple than your normal remixes, sticking to the original tempo more, but it has a, I don't know how to describe it, "techno-ish" sound to it, a perfect fit for game where the visuals were basically just TRON. I didn't actually own the original Star Fox until a few months ago, so this song doesn't click with me as much as the 64 rendition, a song I've been listening to since to 98, but I can see why so many people love this piece.

I particularly enjoy the electro beats for the main beat, as well as the drum hits synced up to the major events within the song. As always, can't wait to see what you make next. Your work is always a fresh treat from the mainstream.

VGSongbird responds:

Thank You. I always appreciate your feedback :D

This is getting tiring for me...

EVERY TIME I search for a specific piece on the audio portal, either mine, Willrocks, or your pieces show up. I didn't even know you made this many pieces.

To the song, a peaceful romp through what may contend as the most dangerous track in Mario Kart 64. Chain Chomps, hills, and crazy jumps killed me more than they should have normal people. Otherwise, this is a merry, emotional tune that brings back memories of kicking my cousin's butts in the game every time. Not much else to say other than a fantastic job capturing the peaceful melody the tune was meant to convey to the listener. Fantastic job yet again.

VGSongbird responds:

Thank You. I appreciate the amazing feedback from another Newgrounds Veteran such as yourself :D

Substantial...

Like always, a great mix and a fine salute to the music few people outside of our generation will listen to. I enjoyed the counterbeats that the percussion set up, and the techno hits add a great flare to fiery tune. I especially enjoyed the piano section halfway through the tune. It takes away from the fast-paced beats of the music, and lets you enjoy the piece for what it truly is.

VGSongbird responds:

I really enjoyed arranging the piano track. It just felt natural coming out :D
And I'm thrilled to hear you enjoyed it too ^_^

This is...

Delightfully Insane.
